About Tim

Welcome to my blog!

I am a Lecturer at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in the department of Ancient Studies. I was also an undergraduate at UMBC from 2000-2004. For the past nine years, I have been a graduate student at the Johns Hopkins University in the Department of Classics. My academic interests are broad, but my primary research is the intellectual milieu of the Flavian and early Trajanic periods. In my personal life, which creeps ever-so-often into this blog, I am husband to a brilliant wife, who also happens to be my live-in editor (though she does not edit this blog — I leave it as purple as possible). We are the parents of two bright, and highly energetic boys, who keep us fretful and frantic, at least whenever we aren’t mooning over how adorable they are.

I invite comments, followers, and inquiries into Ancient Studies at UMBC, classics, and ancient history.

All opinions are my own, and do not necessarily reflect those of my department (ANCS) or my university (UMBC).

  1. I was curious if you ever thought of changing the layout of your
blog? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say.
But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so
people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful
lot of text for only having 1 or 2 images. Maybe you could space it out better?
